Expression of Determination
▼Why I chose Pare English Village
Many people may wonder why I chose not America or British or Australia where English is spoken as an official language, but Indonesia to learn English. However, when I studied in the Philippines last winter, I felt that students in Asia are so dedicated to studying, and it really motivates me to make more efforts. In Pare English Village, there are many people from Asian countries, and what is more important, there are few Japanese. That means that I am obliged to use English, and train English. Moreover, checking the example of schedule on the website, it seemed really tough for me. I think by placing me in a hard situation, I will be able to grow more. In addition, I hear that Blue House has teachers who are native speakers of English. It is a very valuable opportunity that I can learn English which is with few dialects from native speakers. At the same time, Indonesia was one of the countries that I have wanted to visit. I am very interested in Indonesian food, historical heritage, and its culture, especially its Islamic culture. I hope I will be able to learn English not only through the sophisticated lessons, but also through encounters with those new cultures.
▼What I want to achieve
Actually, I started learning English when I was a junior high school student, and it has been about 7 years since I began. But to my disappointment, I am not good at “using” English. In Japan, English is necessary for us to pass the entrance exams to universities, and most of them are reading and writing test, which needs us only to master proper English grammar and words. So even if I can read and write English sentences, I cannot talk in English. However, I want to use English in the future for my job, therefore I want to be able to speak English more smoothly. Especially, I am very weak at listening English. So I want to hear English a lot, and practice to grasp the point in English. I also want to master many useful English words and expressions which I can use in practice in conversations. In addition, I want to train my pronunciation. When I talk with foreigners, they often listen back to me, and it is not rare that some of them misunderstand what I say. So I want to master good pronunciation and also true method of stressing which helps me to be listened well by others.

日本人が少ないパレ英語村は、学習する環境に適していると感じたため、留学を決めるきっかけとなったそうです。学校はアメリカ人ネィティブ講師から学べるブルーハウスに決めました。
陽菜さんは、インドネシア料理、歴史、そして特にイスラム文化に関心があるため英語を単に学習するだけではなく、この地に滞在しながらそういった異文化も同時に体験することを期待しています。
将来、英語を使った仕事をしたいと考えており受験勉強のための英語ではなく、自然な英会話が出来るようにすることを目標にしているので、先生やクラスメイトだけではなく、英語村に滞在してる沢山の学生たちに積極的に英語で話しかけ、交流しながら英語を学んで欲しいと思います。
本日、7月21日から2週間滞在します。
滞在中の様子は、ブログとインスタグラムで紹介していく予定です。
